EXPERIENCE UBUNTU WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Hope Is Where the Heart Is
Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.
The Ubuntu Wildlife Rescue Sanctuary's volunteer program is based on true conservation principles.
The aim is to allow the volunteer the opportunity to gain knowledge of conservation programs in South Africa. Also to assist the animal-keeping staff, with the day-to-day care of the animals at the Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary and the Ukuthanda Farm.
Volunteers will also be involved in community upliftment projects according to their skills and interests.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
You will be taught educational aspects of conservation, ethical conservation practice, You will help with sanctuary developments and tasks on the farm. Feeding the wildlife on the farm and getting a glimpse of what really goes into running and maintaining a rescue sanctuary!
Topics covered during your week at Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The many aspects of a day at Ubuntu Wildlife Sanctuary
The accommodation is situated close to the rescue sanctuary. You will stay in air-conned log cabins, that have their own bathroom, twin-bed sharing.
Nights are spent around the fire exchanging stories and knowledge of Animals and Rescues with Team members. Action Plans for the following day are discussed and a night under the African stars always makes for great memories. And we promise you will forge incredible friendships with fellow volunteers.
When you are not busy at the sanctuary or on the farm with the daily routine and hands-on work, you have downtime to spend around the pool, catching up with fellow volunteers.
LOOK-OUT SOCIAL AREA
Go upstairs and overlook and incredible views of the reserve whilst you eat lunch in the cool African Breeze.
DAY TO DAY JOBS
Working at the Sanctuary could mean anything from assisting in the building of enclosures and night shelters to checking the farm for snares, to feeding the wildlife and more!
VISITING THE COMMUNITY
The aim is to, allow the volunteer the opportunity to gain knowledge of conservation programs in South Africa.
Not only allowing them time to work and learn about wildlife and animals, but also the local community. By visiting the local community and school we expose them to all aspects of our NGO.
